The Church Of Christ The King, Turners Cross is a very unique church. It was years ahead of its time when first built. It is believed to be the first church constructed from concrete in Europe and to this day remains one of the largest suspended ceiling churches in the World.
This section of our site details the history of the commission and gives a detailed building description. We also have a biography on the architect Barry Byrne, his other churches and buildings and also on John Storrs, the sculptor who designed the entrance statue of Christ.
