Entrance Hymn: Amazing Grace
St Brigid is renowned for her hospitality, almsgiving and care of the sick. She was born c. 454. When she was young her father wished to make a very suitable marriage for her but she insisted in consecrating herself to God. She received the veil and spiritual formation from St Mel and stayed for a period under his direction in Ardagh. Others followed her example and this led her to found a double monastery in Kildare. She died in 524 and is buried in Downpatrick with the other two patrons of Ireland, St Patrick and St Columba (Colum Cille). Her cult is widespread not only throughout Ireland but in several European countries. The St Brigid’s Cross, in legend used by Brigid to explain the Christian faith, remains a popular sign of God’s protection. A Naomh Brid, a Mhuire na nGael, scar orainn do bhrat. A Naomh Brid, a chroi na féile, stiuir sinn ar an mbothar ceart.
Funding New Boiler The collapse of the gas boiler and the long wait for the new boiler has been trying for parishioners, especially through challenging weather conditions. At this stage the Finance Committee has been meeting to discuss how we might raise the money to pay for the new boiler. It will cost €29,303. What the committee suggests is threefold: 1. That we place the box at the altar rails where people may hand in their contributions (same box as used for Nov. novena). 2. Alternatively, they may give directly to Fr Noel or to the sacristan. 3. Those who would like to contribute online may do so using this Iban number: IE02AIBK93638301442088. The name of this current account is: Turners X Parish. This parish has a most generous tradition, rising to the challenges of the inevitable costs of maintenance, for which major gratitude is due.
Coffee Morning This Tuesday after Mass. All welcome.
First Wednesday Prayer service led by Legion of Mary at 10 am
Second Collection next weekend for Lourdes Pilgrimage

Recessional Hymn: Here I am, Lord
| I, the Lord of sea and sky I have heard my people cry All who dwell in dark and sin My hand will save I, who made the stars of night I will make their darkness bright Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send? Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? |
I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people’s pain. I have wept for love of them. They turn away. I will break their hearts of stone, give them hearts for love alone. I will speak my word to them.
Whom shall I send? Chorus |
