Entrance Hymn: Lord of all hopefulness

1. Lord of all hopefulness, Lord of all joy,
Whose trust, ever child-like, no cares can destroy,
Be there at our waking, and give us, we pray,
Your bliss in our hearts, Lord, at the break of the day.
2. Lord of all eagerness, Lord of all faith,
Whose strong hands were skilled at the plane and the lathe,
Be there at our labours, and give us, we pray,
Your strength in our hearts, Lord, at the noon of the day.

Mass for New School Year

Diocesan Needs Collection this weekend.

Today’s second collection allows for vital supports to your parish in many areas, including Education, Religious Faith Formation in schools, Mission and Ministry, Youth Ministry, Safeguarding, and Stewardship and Governance as well as guidance in practical matters such as Data Protection, Finance, and Property. Despite the many demands that are placed on your finances, your generosity this weekend is deeply appreciated and will help us continue to build and support a vibrant faith community today and into the future. Thank you for your continued financial assistance.

Altar Servers

The parish is now inviting new altar servers to join our team. It is so helpful for a child at the beginning of the road of Christian faith to have an involvement in the liturgy. They are no longer just spectators, somewhat lost in the seats. Now they are central to the celebration of Mass. I encourage all parents and grandparents to consider offering the possibility of becoming an altar server to your child/grandchild. Application forms are available in the sacristy.

Funeral Ministry Team Formation

The Office for Mission and Ministry will be offering three formation sessions for new teams and for new members of existing teams in the Parish Centre of Sacred Heart, Western Road, Cork on Tuesdays, October 14th and 21st and 28th from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. To register please visit https://tinyurl.com/mission-ministry or by contacting the Office directly at 021-7355517.

CONNECT 7 – an invitation to young adults (18 to 35 years)

Connect 7 will take place on Saturday 18th October in the Cathedral of Saint Mary and Saint Anne, Cork City.

Coffee Morning

Confirmation

The sacrament of confirmation 2026 will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Thursday, 26th March, at 10.30 am. There are some 50 children being prepared for this sacrament in Bunscoil Chriost Ri.

Recessional Hymn: Bind us together, Lord

Bind us together, Lord
Bind us together
With cords that cannot be broken
Bind us together, Lord
Bind us together
Bind us together in Love
There is only one God,
There is only one King
There is only one Body,
That is why we sing.

Fit for the glory of God,

Purchased by His precious Blood

Born with the right to be free

Jesus the victory has won.
