Third Sunday of Easter 23 April 2023
Spring Dues
First of all, let me thank you for your contributions to the Easter collection. I thank you in advance for your response to the request for the Spring Dues. A priest in active ministry relies solely on the Easter collection, the Spring and Autumn dues and the Christmas Day collection for his income. Mile buiochas!
Confirmation Ceremony: Monday, 24 th April, 10.30 am
Forty five children from Bunscoil Chriost Ri will receive the sacrament. We congratulate them and their parents and hope the occasion will be truly celebratory for all the family. We thank their teachers for preparing the children: Mr Kevin O’Donoghue and Ms Niamh Byrne.
Celebrant
The celebrant will be Bishop Patrick Harrington, who is Bishop Emeritus of the diocese of Lodwar in Kenya. Born in Kilmeague, County Kildare, he was ordained priest for the Society of African Missions in 1963. He was Superior General of the Society from 1985 to 1993. He held the office of Bishop from 2000 to 2011. We welcome him warmly to our parish. The celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation is an opportunity for all of us to renew our own Confirmation. Whether it’s recently or in the distant
past that we received this sacrament, our lives will be greatly enriched if we open up the gifts we received on that occasion. These are the gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, good judgment, courage, knowledge, reverence, wonder and awe in God’s presence.

The last Diocesan Needs Quarterly Collection in January amounted to €44,292 throughout the Diocese, which is much appreciated. Recent Death: Denis Linehan, late of Capwell Avenue. May he rest in peace. We sympathise with his family.
