Safeguarding:  Communicating the Church’s safeguarding message and procedures is an important role of the safeguarding committee.  Our safeguarding plans, policies and guidance are on the Diocese website safeguarding page www.corkandross.org /safeguarding.  We have produced a safeguarding newsletter, available at the back of the Church, and an information leaflet on Human Trafficking will be available soon.

Deaths:  We pray for Liam Ó Draighneain, Green Lawn, Eddie Murray, late of Friars Road, and Maureen O’Reilly, Glasheen, who died recently.  We extend our sympathy to their families.

Feast of all Saints Friday 1st November. Vigil Mass on Thursday at 6.00 pm.  Masses on Friday at 10.00 am and 6.00 pm.

Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls Day) Saturday 2nd November, Mass at 10.00 am.

Remembrance Weekend 2nd & 3rd November. All Masses will be offered for our Dead remembering especially those who have died since November 2018.  Nightlights will be available at back of Church to light and place at the altar rails in their memory.   Remembrance Weekend is an opportunity to give thanks for the wonderful gift of family, kind neighbours and friendship.  All of us are shaped and influenced by what has happened in the past and during November we pray for those who have died and acknowledge their influence on our own lives.

Holy Souls Novena of Masses  Saturday 2nd to Sunday 10th November. An extra Mass at 6.00 pm each evening except Sundays.  Novena envelopes are available at the exit doors can be placed in the box at the altar rails.

First Friday calls and First Saturday Anointing of the Sick will be deferred by a week until 8th and 9th November because of the Feast of All Saints (next Friday) and All Souls Day (next Saturday).

A Plenary Indulgence for the souls of the departed may be gained by visiting a church or oratory and there reciting an Our Father and the Apostles’ Creed between noon on November 1st and midnight on All Souls’ Day by all who confess their sins during the week before or after All Souls’ Day, receive Holy Communion between the 1st and 8th November and pray for the Pope’s intentions.  The faithful who visit a cemetery and pray for the dead may gain also gain a plenary indulgence once per day from Nov 1st to 8th, subject to the same conditions.
