Special Triduum in honour of Padre Pio takes place Holy Trinity Church, Fr. Mathew Quay on Monday to Wednesday 23rd to 25th September 2019. 7.30pm each evening.  Come and Pray.

Christ King Secondary School Open Evening 6-8 pm Thursday, September 19th. Principal’s address at 7.15pm.  All parents and prospective students are welcome.

The SMA National Novena in honour of St. Therese starts Monday 23rd September at the African Missions Church, Blackrock Road and will end on Tuesday 1st October.  The novena will be celebrated each evening at 7.30pm (except on Saturday 28th  September when it will be at 7.00pm) for more info. ring 021-4292871

GOUGANE BARRA SUNDAY
September 29th. Rosary at 2.30 pm and Mass at 3.00 pm.  Principal Celebrant will be Most Rev. Fintan Gavin, Bishop of Cork and Ross, the Preacher will be Very Rev. Anthony O’Mahony, PP Uibh Laoire.
If you would like to travel by coach as part of a parish group on Gougane Sunday please leave you name in the Sacristy by next Sunday 22nd September, cost €10.  Please bring a packed lunch, as the Hotel may be crowded. The Coach departs from Turners Cross Church at 12.30 pm.

A Global Strike for Climate takes place Friday 20th September This time, the young people are asking for support from adults.  Holy Cross Church Mahon will host a Prayer-ritual in support of the students’ future at 7.00 p.m. Fri. 20th, and will last for 30 – 40 minutes. All are welcome to join in prayer.

Rosary Rally in Cork. Saturday 28th September. Assembling outside the library Grand Parade at 2pm. and walk to St. Mary’s, Popes Quay for 3.00pm Mass to mark the beginning of the Fatima Novena.

Alpha Course
We invite you to try Alpha with us.  Our Parish Alpha continues on Wednesdays from 7.30 to 9.00 pm in the Parish Centre.  New participants welcome at the second session on Wednesday of this week, 18th September.
Alpha is for everyone, no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome. Come along and see what you think.  No pressure. No follow up. No charge.

The Parish Assembly wishes to thank all our parishioners who helped raise €580 for Down Syndrome Ireland on Sunday, June 23, 2019.”

Cork Alzheimers Café a safe place for people with Alzheimers and other dementias, their carers, family and friends along with social and health professionals to meet. Last Friday of each month 1.30–3.30 pm in St Finbarrs Hospital, Douglas Road.  Light refreshments provided free of charge. Friday 27th September 1.30–3.00pm All welcome.

The Annual Collection for the Education of Students preparing for Priesthood takes place at all Masses next weekend. This collection is the principal source of funding
