Rev. John Guirey:
We welcome Deacon John Guirey who will preach at our Masses this weekend. Ordained last October in his home Parish of Ballinhassig, Deacon John is one of three married deacons in the Diocese of Cork & Ross. A native of Turner’s Cross, he was an Altar Server here in the 1960’s.
Deacons continue in their family lives and secular employment. The four-year programme of preparation is part-time, as is the subsequent ministry. Anybody interested may contact their local priest or the Diocesan Director of the Permanent Diaconate, Canon Bertie O’Mahony, PP, Parochial House, Model Farm Road, phone (021) 4346940 or (087) 2519940.
Youth Music Group
Young people, especially those at second level, who play a musical instrument are invited to join the new parish Youth Music Group. The first meeting will be in the Turners Cross Parish Centre on Friday 21 June, 4-5 pm. Please bring your instrument.

Team members hand out Mass leaflets as they offer a smile or word of welcome. If you would like to help, please leave your name and contact details in the Sacristy.
Lourdes: Fr. Kerry travels to Lourdes with a number of parishioners on the Cork & Ross Diocesan Pilgrimage on Monday 10th June. Our good wishes and prayers go with him. Petitions to be placed at the Grotto may be put in envelopes – no money – and placed in the box at the altar rail before 1.00 pm on this Sunday, 9th June.
Ice Cream Sunday in support of Down Syndrome Ireland will be held this year on Sunday, June 23rd. Ice Cream will be available after the 10.00 am and 12.00 noon Masses.
Our Parish Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus will start on Thursday 20th June and conclude on Friday 28th June, the Feast of the Sacred Heart. Novena Prayers each morning at the 10am Mass or families may wish to pray the novena at home. Novena Prayers will be available at the back of the Church.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus I place all my trust in you.
Holy Communion for the Sick
Ministers of the Eucharist taking Holy Communion to the sick and housebound should not bring a Pyx to the minister or priest when receiving Communion themselves. Their Pyx should be handed into the Sacristy before Mass, where an unconsecrated host will be placed in that Pyx which will then be taken to the Altar for consecration during Mass.
