2018 World Meeting of Families and Papal Visit to Ireland
A special collection will be taken up at all Masses this weekend 1st – 2nd June towards the cost of hosting the World Meeting of Families in Ireland last August.

Exams:  Our prayers and good wishes to all beginning Exams on this Wednesday, when the 10am Mass will be offered for you all.  May your efforts and hard work be blessed with success.   Our Students are also remembered in our Shared Mass every Friday at 10am. Special Cards are available in the Sacristy.

Meeting and Greeting:  The Parish Assembly is developing a team to welcome people, regulars or newcomers, to Mass on Sundays to foster the communal aspect of our Sunday Mass.  Team members will be asked to attend a Mass of their choice from time to time and hand out Mass leaflets as they offer a smile or word of welcome.  If you would like to help the development of this parish service, please leave your name and contact details in the Sacristy.

Anam Cara Cork, the organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding a Remembrance Evening on Wednesday 5th June at 7:20pm at the Lough, Cork, followed by Tea and Coffee in the Hawthorn. This event is free and open to all bereaved parents. Please RSVP to info@anamcara.ie or 085 2888888 to help us organise.  Please note there are no Events in July or August.

Annual Diocesan Pioneer Mass will take place in the Church of Our Lady and St. John, –Carrigaline, Co. Cork on Friday June 7th at 7.30pm.  Pioneers qualifying for 10-year, Silver or Golden Jubilee pins and the new 60-year Diamond pin, may contact Aislinn 087 9699 488 or Barry 087 813 7990. Mount Cara (Cara House) on Redemption Road, is a twenty-five bedded facility on the Northside of Cork City, adjacent to the Diocesan Office.  Mount Cara offers respite, convalescence and continuing care.   For further information, contact Ms. Eilís Brennan  (021) 4395737.

Lourdes:   Fr. Kerry travels to Lourdes with the Diocesan Pilgrimage on Monday 10th June. with some parishioners from our Parish. Our good wishes and prayers go with them.
Petitions to be placed at the Grotto in Lourdes may be put in envelopes – no money –and placed in the box at the altar rail, no later than Sunday 9th June.

Traffic Disruption during Cork City Marathon on this Sunday 2nd June from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. There will be Traffic Disruption this Sunday during the Marathon, and access to the Church from South Douglas Road/Skabeg and Curragh Road will be affected. Signs will direct traffic from the South Douglas Road onto the Cross Douglas Road, travelling via Douglas Road to the church gates on Capwell Road. On leaving the carpark, the signs will direct traffic to return the way they came, with limited egress from the southern end of Capwell Road turning left only onto the South Douglas Road.  Curragh Road will be closed to traffic.  The Church and church car park will be accessible from Evergreen Road.

Cemetery Mass
Mass for the bereaved will be celebrated at St. James’s Cemetery, Chetwynd (Maher’s Lane, off the Bandon Road before the Viaduct) on Saturday 8th June at 3.00 p.m.

Youth Music Group
Young people, especially those at second level, who play a musical instrument are invited to join the new parish Youth Music Group. The first meeting will be in the Turners Cross Parish Centre on Friday 21 June, 4-5 pm. Please bring your instrument.
