Deaths:  We pray for Noel Maher late of Friars Road and Sr Dolores Wall, South Presentation Convent and late of Turners Cross Presentation Convent, who died recently.  We extend our sympathy to their families and community.

2018 World Meeting of Families and Papal Visit to Ireland
A special collection will be taken up at all Masses next weekend 1st – 2nd June towards the cost of hosting the World Meeting of Families in Ireland last August.

Our Students are remembered in our Shared Mass every Friday at 10.00 am. Special Cards are available in the Sacristy for those doing and preparing for exams.

Monthly Holy Hour to pray for Vocations:  will be hosted by the Ursuline Sisters on Monday 27th May from 7pm to 8pm in the Ursuline Convent, Blackrock T12 X982 (access from Convent Road). Cup of tea to follow – all are welcome.

 Ministers of Word & Eucharist:  Rotas for coming weeks are in the Sacristy.

Anointing of Sick: Saturday 1st June after 10.00 am Mass.  Consider offering a lift to a housebound neighbour.

PARISH MEETING
 During our Parish Mission we were encouraged to grow in our relationship with the Lord as we discussed together how we can be faithful followers of Christ in the new reality of twenty-first century Ireland.  At the closing session many parishioners submitted proposals for the renewal of our parish and agreed to help in our parish pastoral programme. The Parish Assembly will hold an Open Meeting in the Parish Centre on Wednesday next 29th May to discuss these how these proposals may best be made part of a Parish Pastoral Programme, to be started in September.  Everybody is welcome to attend, particularly those who participated in the mission discussion and submitted proposals.

Living with Loss Cork 2019: Information evening with keynote address by Dessie Fitzgerald (former Cork Hurler) on living with grief and loss – Thursday 6th June from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at the Clayton Hotel, Lapps Quay, Cork City.  Organised by the Hospice Foundation in conjunction with local bereavement organisations.

Diocesan Mission Team Information Night A new Cork & Ross Mission Team is being established, to foster mission awareness in parishes and in the diocese.  Interested parishioners and especially those who have worked overseas in mission or development work are welcome to attend a meeting on Tuesday 28th May at 7:30 pm in the Carrigaline Parish Centre.   Enquiries to Fr Pat Fogarty 087 6608758 or patriciofogarty@gmail.com.

Cork Alzheimers Café a safe place for people with Alzheimers and other dementias, their carers, family and friends to meet social and health professionals. Last Friday of each month 1.30-3.30 pm in St Finbarr’s Hospital. Light refreshments, all welcome. Next on Friday, 31st May.

Cork City Marathon, Sunday 2nd June, 2019.  There will be Traffic Disruption next Sunday during the Marathon, and access to the Church from South Douglas Road/Skabeg and Curragh Road will be affected. Signs will direct traffic from the South Douglas Road onto the Cross Douglas Road, travelling via Douglas Road to the church gates on Capwell Road. On leaving the carpark, the signs will direct traffic to return the way they came, with limited egress from the southern end of Capwell Road turning left only onto the South Douglas Road.  Curragh Road will be closed to traffic.  The Church and church car park will be accessible from Evergreen Road.

Bring flowers of the rarest – our May hymn to May. We encourage you to pray the Rosary (even one decade), during May, or join the Rosary here before the 10.00 am weekday Mass.
