Feast of St. Anthony  Blessing of Lilies,     On Monday 13th June the Feast St Anthony, the traditional blessing of lilies will take place at the 10am Mass.

Deaths:  We remember in our prayers  Maisie Murphy, Mercier Pk. &  Liam O’Callaghan, Doyle Rd.   Josephine (Jo) O’Shea,  Slievemish Park. who died recently.  We extend our sympathy to their families.

Pat NugentOrdination to Priesthood:  Fr. Pat Nugent was ordained to the Priesthood  for our Diocese on Saturday June 4th, at the Church of the Real Presence, Curraheen.   Evin O’Brien, a student for the Diocese, from the Parish of Mahon, was ordained a Diaconate in Maynooth on  the Feast of Corpus Christi.  Our congratulations to Pat and Evin.

Pioneers:   Gold, Silver and Diamond jubilee pins will be presented at the Pioneer  Diocesan Mass  which will take place at 8p.m. in St.Columba’s Church, Douglas on June 22nd.   Contact Sorcha on 0863642619 or sorchaol@gmail.com

World Youth Day 2016 – Cork Event

The Diocese of Cork and Ross Pastoral Development Office is hosting an evening Vigil and Mass on Saturday 30th July from 8pm to Midnight to coincide with the World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland with Pope Francis.  The evening will include music, inspiring talks, prayer, food, confession, adoration, discussion groups and live links to Krakow throughout the evening.  The event will conclude with Concelebrated Mass at 11pm.  This will all take place in Saint Columba’s Church and Parish Centre in Douglas.  It is open to young adults 18-40 and young people 16-18 accompanied by parish group leaders.  A contribution of €10 per participant is asked and registration is essential – details and registration forms available from the Pastoral Development Office telephone 021 4537601.
