Pope Francis hearing confessions

Palm Sunday Confessions will be available after all the Masses next Sunday, including the Vigil Mass on Saturday and a number of priests will be available. Last Sunday we met the Prodigal Son in the Gospel. The moment of conversion in his life was when he came to his senses. He saw clearly his predicament and true condition. “How many of my father’s hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death.” His behavior had made him lose his moorings and lose sight of reality. His self examination brought him back to earth and in touch with reality. The Holy Spirit is always at work in our lives to show us the ways that have led us from the Father’s house.
This week and during this Year of Mercy when we examine our conscience we invite the Spirit to bring us back down to earth and back to reality, in touch  with our state before God.
