Corpus Christi: Today’s feast of the Body and Blood of Christ reminds us of that the Eucharist is the “source and summit” of our faith, and for the Eucharist we need priests. Through the ministry of priests we are nourished by the Bread of Life and the liturgical life of the parish is made possible. At a time of falling numbers of priests Fr Kerry gives an important example of fifty years of faithful service to the people of God. As well as being our Parish Priest, he serves as Archdeacon of the Diocese of Cork & Ross, and Pastoral Area Coordinator for the parishes of Turner’s Cross, the South Parish and St Peter & Paul’s. This kindly and pastoral priest is a man of enthusiasm and an extremely hard worker, with an ability to relate to parishioners of all ages. He can go the heart of any matter under discussion. We thank him for his service here and wish him well for the future. “Ad multos annos.”
