Pope Francis: With great joy we welcome our new Pope. His election may have taken many of us by surprise; but the more we learn about him, the more it becomes clear that his election is an inspired one and that his papacy will be inspiring. Our new Pope will help us to respond generously to the call to personal holiness. At the very beginning of his papacy on Wednesday Pope Francis humbly asked that we pray for him. Let us do that.

The Mass for the inauguration of the Petrine Ministry of Pope Francis will be on Tuesday March 19th, the feast of St. Joseph, at 8.30 am (Irish time) in St. Peter’s It will be televised.

Penitential Celebrations next Sunday, Palm Sunday, Holy Week begins. We will have an opportunity to receive God’s forgiveness. Confessions will take place after all the Masses next weekend 23rd/24th March A number of priests will be available for confessions. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to Confession and encourage members of the family to avail of the opportunity of Confession for Easter. A Time of Reflection As we prepare for Holy Week there will be time of Reflecion and Prayer in the Chapel of St. Finbarrs Hospital, Fr. Joe Kavanagh o.p. will guide us.
