Lent
Lent translates as springtime'. Everyone welcomes spring, warmer days, the arrival of flowers and new life bursting forth in nature. Lent can also be a time for spiritual growth and renewal. It is always great to be able to open windows on a fine fresh day. You can feel the breeze rushing in to sweep out the stale air. Lent is all about removing what is stale in our lives and allowing life and growth to replace it. Lent is a journey, not just a day or two put together in isolation. As we journey through the coming weeks of Lent we invite God into our lives. We especially ask God to replace what's stale and stagnant with life, energy and freshness. Let us make the most of this Lent.
It was great to see the big numbers at Mass on Ash Wednesday and since then. Weekday Masses during Lent 10am & 6pm
Give yourself a gift of Peace this Lent
On the Wednesdays of Lent there will be Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament after the 10am Mass until 11am, including our Mass we will have an hour with the Lord. Why not join us for an hour each week. Silence and prayer are the key to peace. Why not give yourself this gift?
Family Fast Boxes
Trócaire Family Fast Boxes are available at the back of the Church, and have been distributed through the Primary Schools. Last Lent the great sum of 12,508 was raised for Trócaire from our Parish.
This year, Trócaire is seeking to raise awareness of the plight of people who have been forced to leave their homes through war, violence and hunger as well as natural disasters. The Trócaire box features a young boy Khalid (7) who has been so displaced in Somalia. War ruined his home, his family, his life. – we can help to rebuild his world.

How are you coping with your Grief?
Nothing can prepare us for loss be it the loss of a loved one through death, separation, illness e.g. stroke, loss of a limb, loss of a job etc. There are so many feelings, and at the same time, so much to deal with. The Word of God and the Prayer of the Church can be healing in times of grief.
How are you coping with your grief? Do you know that help is at hand? Participation in the Parish Bereavement Support Group could be the answer. Such a group is commencing in our Parish of Christ the King in March and will continue until the end of April. Contact the sacristy / members of the Parish Assembly for further details. 087-2610276
