October 7th – Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary

Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.
October is the month of the Rosary and on this day October 7th we celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary.  The feast of the Holy Rosary was established by Saint Pius V on the anniversary of the naval victory won by the Christian fleet at Lepanto, October 7, 1571. The victory was attributed to the help of the holy Mother of God whose aid was invoked through praying the Rosary.

A Pilgrimage of a Lifetime

At the dawn of this Sunday 7th Oct.  we fly to Tel Aviv to begin our Pilgrimage, our Parish group will be joined with pilgrims from Douglas and Inishannon.    For all of us these will be special days – for many a dream come true. In my estimation there is no other experience that can compare with walking where Jesus walked, praying where he prayed, seeing what he saw, touch what he touched. Hopefully the events in Jesus¹s life and his teaching will come alive in a new way. When we arrive on Sunday we travel North to spend the first few days
in Galilee.  I will be offering Mass for you all on the Mount of Beatitudes (where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount) on this Monday. We will be visiting Nazareth, Cana, Capharnaum, River Jordan, Mount Thabor, Mount Carmel and Jericho.  On Friday we travel South to Jerusalem where Jesus spent his final momentous days  from there visiting Bethlehem, Bethany, Room of the Last Supper, Gethsemane, Via Dolorosa, Holy Sepulchre, The Temple area. I will be offering Mass on Calvary  on Mon.15th. We visit many other places associated with the life of Jesus,  there will be so much to experience!.
What a great grace and privilege this will be.  As I go on my pilgrim way I carry in my heart the prayers of you all,  please pray for us.
Fr. Kerry
