March 25th 2007 – 5th Sunday of Lent

Parish Confirmations
Wednesday 28th March 10.30 am
We extend a warm welcome to Bishop John Buckley who will confirm 120 young people on Wednesday.
Confirmation completes our journey of initiation, which was begun at Baptism. Confirmation enables us to become full members of the church.  Eleven or twelve years ago these 120 young people were baptised. Their parents asked for them to become members of the church and asked that  they receive the gift of faith and  promised to nourish and encourage this gift as they grow older.
Now they are old enough to say ‘yes’ to that gift for themselves and this is what they do at Confirmation.
At confirmation we believe that the gifts of this same Spirit are renewed and affirmed in us and these gifts will help us to be people of spirit, people who want to live as Jesus asks us to.
We wish all those to be confirmed and their families and teachers a lovely day on Wednesday.

There will be no 10am Mass on Wed 28th March because of Confirmations.
There will be Mass at 9am and 6pm
