July 9th 2006 – 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time

St. Claude La Colombière
The relics of St. Claude will be brought from France and will be venerated in The North Cathedral this coming week.
The programme is as follows:

Thursday July 13th:
2 pm – Arrival of relics followed by a short prayer service.
2.30-11 pm – Relics on display in the Sanctuary for veneration.
7-8pm – Formal hour of devotion to the Sacred Heart.
11pm – The Cathedral will be closed, unless we are notified by any specific groups who guarantee to maintain a constant prayerful presence throughout the night.

Friday July 14th:
9am – Cathedral opens
10am – Parish Mass (Mass of St. Claude will be celebrated. Concelebrants and groups are welcome.
11.45am – Concluding Service of Thanksgiving, and departure of the Relics.

A letter regarding the visit of the Relics of St. Claude to the Cathedral is available at the back of the Church.

St. Joseph's Young Priests Society
Monthly meeting Tues. 11th July at 8pm in the Parish Centre.

Deaths
We remember in our prayers Tom Kiely, Frankfield Villas and Peggy Hennessy, O'Connell Ave., who died during the week. We extend our sympathy to their families. May they rest in peace.

Ministers of the Word
can collect their rotas for the coming weeks in the Sacristy.

Planning Permission
To coincide with the upgrading of the Church Grounds and placing of new drains, planning permission is being sought for the erection of two toilets in the Church Grounds beside the Parish Centre, one suitable for the handicapped. Once planning permission comes through, work will begin.
