July 27th 2003 – 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Discovering One’s Own Riches
I lived on the shady side of the road and watched my neighbour’s gardens across the way revelling in the sunshine. I felt I was poor and from door to door went in my hunger. The more they gave me, from their careless abundance, the more I became aware of my beggar’s bowl. Till one morning I awoke from my sleep at the sudden opening of my door and you came and asked for alms. In despair, I broke open the lid of my chest and was startled into finding my own wealth.

First Friday
There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 10 am Mass until 12.30 pm.

Care in the Home Training

We remember in our prayers Nancy Parkes, 5 Greenhills Court.
May she rest inn peace.
Also, Zoe Twomey, 28 Derrynane Road. As we remember Zoe, a child of God in heaven, we also pray for her twin brother, Zac, who is still in hospital. Today we remember Zac in our prayers.
