HOLY WEEK CONFESSION
We begin the final week of Lent. We have journeyed and prayed together for peace and reconciliation in our lives and have tried to seek out all that separates us from the love of God through sin. To help us continue our journey of reconciliation our Parish will celebrate penitential services after the 4 Masses this weekend. A number of priests will be with us to help with confessions. Your very wish to come and the effort you make are signs that Gods love and grace are at work in you. Now is the favourable time. Most of us are familiar with the procedure for this communal Reconciliation Service. When we approach the priest we say
I am sorry for all my sins
I ask Gods forgiveness
for …
You mention the particular sin you want to. The priest will absolve you saying
I absolve you from all your sins, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
We must remember that what God does in confession is far more important than what we do. God wants to hug us back into his love. There is no sin beyond the power of his forgiveness.
