April 6th 2003 – 5th Sunday of Lent

PRESENTATION OF THE PASSION
At  time when the world is in turmoil between wars, famine and general discontent, it seems appropriate that we reflect on the Life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In this presentation, which takes place at Christ the King Church in the early days of Holy Week, all the participants are from the Parish. The presentation is designed to show that the main purpose of the life of Christ is to fill us with hope that, in conquering death itself, we ourselves can place our trust in Him to guide and protect us through the adversities of life.
The presentation is not to be seen just as a theatrical performance, but within the confines of the Church, something that will have the capacity to awaken for us the extraordinary and inspirational events during the Life and Passion of Christ.
Performances:  on Mon. & Tues. of Holy Week at 8 pm

Confessions
Next Sunday, Palm Sunday, Holy Week begins. We will have an opportunity to receive God’s forgiveness.
Penitential Celebrations will take place after all the Masses next weekend 12/13 April.
On the Sunday before Christmas last year 21 priests were hearing confessions after the four weekend Masses. We will have the same opportunity this coming weekend. While the number going to the Confession Box could be counted in dozens, approximately 2000 people young and old took part in the Penitential Services after the Masses.
Encourage members of the family to avail of the opportunity. As St. Paul says: "Now is the favourable time, this is the day of salvation."

Let us dream together, pray together, work together,
to build one world of peace and justice for all,
especially for the people of Iraq and the MIddle East.
