Jesus is returning to his Father who sent him into the world to do his saving work. The disciples are sad because they won’t see Jesus any more. Before going home, Jesus told them to carry on his work of preaching, teaching, baptising, forgiving and healing, and to teach people to keep his commandments (rules for good living). He promised them that he would be with them always through his Holy Spirit, helping and guiding them. This is the same Spirit of Jesus that we receive in Confirmation to help and guide us.
Back to Church Full-time
As the restoration work on the Church is nearing completion, we will be back full-time in the Church next Wednesday 15th May with Mass at 8 am and the Confirmation Mass at 10.30 am. (No Mass at 10 am). On this Monday and Tuesday Masses will be in the Funeral Home at the usual times. We take this opportunity to thank Charlie Sullivan for allowing us to use the Funeral Home over the past 9 months. Charlie’s kindness and welcome and that of his staff was much appreciated, as was the small intimate venue for Mass each week morning.
Confirmations
Bishop John Buckley will be with us on Wednesday 15 May when the girls and boys of our local schools receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Mass will be at 10.30 am. We wish the young people and their families a lovely day.
