Rare aerial shot, posibly taken in 1931 but definitely before 1935. Barely visible is a trainline that ran behind the church and parochial houses, before submerging under a bridge at the junction of Capwell road and South Douglas Road (top right).
The surrounding railings were not fitted until 1935 and this image shows the surrounding grounds mostly grass-based.
The field area on the bottom left is now the location of Scoil Chriost Ri boys primary school, opened in 1938. |
