Description : This shows the altar after Vatican II renovations. The original altar has been removed and replaced with a newer and more modern version. The altar plateau has been carpeted, effectively covering over much of the floor design. The reredos screen when compared to the original b&w image, looks like it has been retouched or redrawn. It would also appear that some of the altar decorations have been removed. The cavities for these are visible on either side. It seems that these may have been the stations of the cross which were probably considered out of place in the sanctuary. All changes considered, the interior retains most of its original effect (C) David Halpern
