The steel cross sections are part of the seven struss supports that span the ceiling and support both the outer roof and suspended plasterwork. The window pane shown with smaller segments is a reproduction of the original pane that has openings to allow the suspended sanctuary lamp hang from the attic. This meant that the typical counterweight and pulley mechanism was also concealed from view.
